Breast and cervical cancer are among the leading causes of cancer deaths for women in Sub-Saharan Africa — not because they cannot be treated, but because they are found too late. Early detection changes the story, and early detection needs equipment.
In 2025, the World Health Organization contracted YessPharma GmbH for a $0.56 million programme supplying medical equipment for breast and cervical cancer screening and care across three countries: Ivory Coast, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
Three countries, three regulatory environments, three logistics chains — one standard. Our team delivered ultrasound systems and clinical supplies to health centres like Kasuku in Kenya, installed them, and trained the local teams who now run screening programmes with them. The photographs on this page were taken at those handovers.
Somewhere in Kenya, Zimbabwe or Ivory Coast, a nurse is finding a tumour early enough to treat it — on equipment we put in her hands. Few projects state our mission more clearly than that.
